New Publication: Observation of the Crab Nebula with the SST-1M stereoscopic system at low altitude

The SST-1M collaboration is proud to announce the publication of a new scientific article presenting the first gamma-ray observations of the Crab Nebula using the SST-1M stereoscopic system. The paper describes the performance of the two SST-1M telescopes during their commissioning and scientific observation phase between September 2023 and March 2024. The observations, conducted in both monoscopic and stereoscopic modes, provide key validation of the instrument’s expected performance through comparison with detailed Monte Carlo simulations.

This study represents an important milestone for the SST-1M project, demonstrating the capabilities of our SiPM-based IACT system for multi-TeV gamma-ray astronomy.
